+a road trip back. Petina, Italy… +

update:

so as you all know, I have been trying to write a story about my trip to Petina. it’s been hard. it’s been strange. ask all the people (since i’ve been home) how i go about trying to explain it when i talk to them. i’m confused. it was beautiful. it was difficult.  it was beautifully difficult.

long story short.

i’m still working on a story. i’m still trying to write something….please be patient, you legends.

link

Not sure where I ran across this, but it’s probably the best news headline I’ve seen in months. In fact, I’m starting my own cover band. We play old Korn songs on Casio Keyboards. Currently looking for a decent Dijeeridoo player.

Our name, simply: Head Gets God, Quits Korn

“This place inside my mind, a place I like to hide
You don’t know the chances. What if I should die?!
A place inside my brain, another kind of pain
You don’t know the chances. I’m so blind! “

(NOTE: It really is too bad they are no more. These are lyrics that would make any 14-year-old’s locker come to life with poetry the likes of which Edgar Allen Poe would drop his pen in defeat. [Sub-note, note: the Brain/Pain alliteration, though critics deem “overrated, overused” in this case, only works to electrify an already brilliant stanza of internal despair.)

wrote a long letter to a ghost last night,

wondering if it’s possible to have a friendship in the end.

+rehearsal+

at a restaurant in a small town,
a 15-yr girl practices before a show,
she sings on the patio…

not sure she speaks any english,
save the words to the songs she learns….

…for many reasons, this moment kept me still.
